Job summary

MES Life Safety in Texas seeks a full-time Service Technician (Air Products - SCBA) to inspect, maintain, repair, and test SCBA equipment used by firefighters in hazardous environments. You will perform preventive maintenance on 3M/Scott SCBA units and related gear, ensuring readiness for emergencies while traveling across central Texas.

The ideal candidate will have prior SCBA service experience, hands-on mechanical skills, and willingness to travel 25–30% with occasional overnight stays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Prior experience servicing and maintaining SCBA equipment is highly desirable.
• Technical training or certification related to SCBA maintenance is preferred.
• Knowledge of NFPA safety standards and SCBA guidelines (Scott/3M) is expected.
• Sound computer skills are essential.
• Willingness to travel extensively, including overnight stays for remote or large jobs.

Responsibilities

• Inspect SCBA and related equipment for readiness and compliance.
• Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on SCBA equipment.
• Conduct tests (pressure, airflow, leak) to manufacturer specs and standards.
• Maintain detailed records of inspections, maintenance, and tests.
• Calibrate and adjust SCBA equipment for accurate readings and safe operation.
• Train end-users and personnel on proper SCBA use and care.
• Manage spare parts and inventory for repairs and maintenance.
• Stay current with safety regulations and SCBA standards.
• Interact with customers to address equipment-related concerns.
