Peckham, a nonprofit vocational rehabilitation organization, seeks a Scanner/Packager in Lansing, MI. This entry-level role supports packaging, labeling, scanning, and basic material-handling activities across Operations or Supply Chain.
You will work 7:30 am–4:00 pm, Monday–Friday, with overtime as needed. The position is full-time at $13.73 per hour, offering a pathway within Peckham’s inclusive work environment and opportunities for growth in a mission-driven organization.

The Scanner/Packager is an entry level role responsible for supporting packaging, labeling, scanning, and basic material-handling activities. Work assignments may occur in either Operations (production or pre-production areas) or Supply Chain (warehouse, inbound, or outbound areas) depending on business needs. Employees are assigned to a specific area and are only expected to perform the duties related to that assignment. Important Note About Work Assignments: This role supports multiple work environments across the organization. Employees are not required to work in all areas. Duties performed will depend on the team they are assigned to—either Operations or Supply Chain.
Standing and walking for long periods Lifting 40lbs frequently; up to 50lbs frequently in Operations; up to 100lbs occasionally with assistance in Supply Chain Use of pallet jacks and manual tools. While carrying out the responsibilities of this position, the employee will regularly need to stand, walk, and use their hands for handling or feeling objects. Strong communication skills are essential. Asking questions and expressing concerns is critical to success. Person must be able to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds frequently, up to 50lbs frequently in Operations; up to 100lbs occasionally with assistance in Supply Chain.

The environment may include warehouse floors, cutting rooms, pre-production areas, or production areas. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, as there is some moving mechanical equipment.
