Job summary

Corteva Agriscience is seeking a Formulation Process Development Engineer in Indianapolis, IN to advance crop protection formulations from research through manufacturing transfer. You will design experiments, collaborate with formulation scientists, and drive scale-up feasibility while addressing process variables that impact quality and stability.

The role emphasizes DOE-driven studies, cross-functional teamwork, and hands-on development of various formulation types, with travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• Analyzing and interpreting data, report-writing, and clearly communicating data-based process steps and scale-up parameter recommendations

Responsibilities

• Design and conduct research activities to enable successful launch of crop protection formulated products (70%).
• Plan and coordinate trials to determine scale-up feasibility with Formulation Scientists.
• Use Design of Experiment (DoE) to study key process variables affecting performance, quality and manufacturability.
• Assess properties like viscosity, particle size, bulk density, dispersion time, suspension stability, etc.
• Work with formulations types (WDG, OD, CS, SL, EC, SC, baits) for new and existing actives.
• Coordinate samples for reactive chemistry, packaging compatibility, application studies and material compatibility.
• Communicate data-based recommendations to enable product launches.
• Document key process considerations in technical reports and transfer learnings from DOE and plant trials.
• Develop trial plans for manufacturing scale trials and provide startup support for launched formulations.
• Troubleshoot process issues and offer manufacturing solutions.
• Consolidate sample requests and coordinate procurement of materials.
