Job summary

Reworld Waste in Newark, NJ is seeking a Scale Operator to monitor truck traffic, accurately record load data, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations. You will weigh loads, verify O&D forms, and maintain scale tickets while providing excellent service to drivers and vendors.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, 1–3 years of administrative experience, strong organization and communication skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-3 years of administrative, clerical, or accounting experience.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel); experience with records systems preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
• Bilingual skills a plus.

Responsibilities

• Weigh and document all inbound and outbound truck loads.
• Review driver Origin & Destination (O&D) forms and verify load compliance.
• Enter load data into internal systems and maintain accurate scale tickets and records.
• Communicate tonnage and operation updates to internal teams.
• Enforce DEP regulations and site safety requirements, including PPE use.
• Maintain a clean and orderly scale house and perform routine walkdowns.
• Provide customer service to drivers, vendors, and the public.
• Report operational issues or irregularities to supervision.
• Support special projects and work additional hours as needed.
