Job summary

Wayne-Sanderson Farms is seeking a weight and labeling associate for night shifts. You will weigh product, label boxes, and operate on a cold, wet production floor while adhering to safety protocols.

Heavy lifting (up to 70 lbs) is required. PPE is provided, and benefits begin on day one. This role supports multiple departments as needed and requires reliability and self-motivation.

Qualifications

• Willing to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shifts.
• Poultry experience preferred but not required.
• Must be able to work unsupervised and self-motivate.

Responsibilities

• Accurately weigh product and place correct labels on boxes.
• Lift and place 40–70 pound boxes onto track.

• May be required to dump product from lugs into a combo.
• Follow directions and work in other departments as needed.

PAY: $20.40/hour WORK SCHEDULE: 4:30 PM - 1:35 AM BENEFITS: Available first day of hire

PRIMARY FUNCTION

Primarily responsible for weighing boxes of product; ensures accuracy of weight, labels, and codes. Must always use and maintain personal protective equipment, and work in compliance with all company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines, and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

Must accurately weigh product and place correct label on box. Lift and place 40 - 70 pound boxes of product onto track. Ensure proper ice coverage on all product around employee’s scale. May be required to dump product from lugs into a combo. Ability to work cooperatively with supervisors, coworkers Do all tasks assigned by members of management Must be able to follow directions and work in other departments as needed. Must be able to perform additional duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS

Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate. Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shift hours. Sound work ethic, honesty and moral character.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Poultry experience preferred but not required

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

Follow Standard Operating Procedures and adhere to safety requirements Must wear required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) PPE required but subject to change: Hairnet, beard net, shoe covers, gloves, smock, earplugs

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to work in a wet and cold environment (45ºF, 4ºC) Ability to stand for an 8 hour shift Will be exposed to noise (>85 decibels), CO2, and moving production Must be able to lift and push up to 70 lbs.
