Job summary

Scoular is seeking a motivated Scale Operator for a seasonal role through the harvest cycle, with potential to transition to full-time. You will weigh grain, manage truck flows, and collect samples while delivering strong customer service in a fast-paced environment.

On-the-job training is provided. The position requires outdoor work in all weather and the ability to stand for long periods around grain dust and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Receive, weigh and test grain delivered to the facility.

• Greet customers and visitors professionally and direct them as needed.
• Perform other duties to support operations.

Job description

Scoular is seeking a motivated Scale Operator to join our team and contribute to our mission of creating safe and reliable supply chain solutions for our customers. This is a seasonal position lasting through our harvest cycle in mid-September that has the possibility to transition to full-time. We are a team-oriented workplace that motivates hard-working individuals that can adapt to a fast-paced work environment.

Primary duties include:

• Receive, weigh and test grain delivered to the facility while providing superior customer service to the Producers/Drivers.
• Weigh all trucks coming into and leaving the facility and directing trucks to the proper location for loading and unloading. Communicate with the production crew to ensure timely unloading of trucks.
• Probe all inbound trucks to collect commodity sample and enter all customer and commodity information into tracking system.
• Housekeeping duties to keep area within the office area and scale room clean and presentable.
• Greet customers and visitors (both in person and via telephone) in a professional and courteous manner and direct them to the appropriate individual if necessary.
• Other duties as needed to support operations.

• Must be able to work in an environment with high levels of grain dust.
• Must be able to bend and reach in normal range of movement.
