The Scale House Attendant is responsible for attending to truck scales, determining volumes and weights of loads; collecting gate fees, maintaining accounting records, balancing receipts, and preparing daily deposits. The role involves dispatching the fleet for optimal efficiency and meeting client needs. The position serves as a resource to truck and vehicle operators and the public, performing operational, recordkeeping, and clerical tasks within established guidelines. The scope includes waste management services at landfills, transfer stations, well sites, and recycling facilities.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Experience in a fast-paced trucking or scale operation
• Experience with trucking dispatch preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Knowledge of basic accounting, recordkeeping, and cash handling
• Ability to establish effective relationships with contractors, personnel, and the public
• Excellent customer service skills and accurate recordkeeping

Responsibilities:

• Attend scales to weigh and record loads
• Generate and enter scale tickets and determine disposal fees
• Provide customer service and handle inquiries and complaints
• Enter data, generate reports, and review for accuracy
• Perform clerical duties using office equipment and software
• Ensure safety compliance and communicate safety rules
• Dispatch trucks efficiently, relay maintenance issues, and develop trucking schedules
• Perform additional duties as required
