Job summary

Root, Neal & Company in Buffalo, NY seeks a Scale Field Service Technician to install, calibrate, maintain, and repair weighing equipment at customer sites and in our service facility. The role requires strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, excellent customer service, and adherence to safety protocols.

The ideal candidate can read schematics, use testing devices, and travel to customer locations as needed.

Qualifications

• Willingness to learn and adapt in a field service role.
• Strong customer service focus with communication skills.
• Proven problem-solving ability with attention to detail.
• Solid mechanical and electrical troubleshooting capabilities.
• Basic knowledge of machines, tools, electronics and software.
• Familiarity with digital multimeters and related tools.
• CDL Class B and Weights & Measures certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide installation, calibration, and field service repair on weighing equipment.
• Review work orders, manuals, blueprints, and diagrams to determine needed tools and parts.
• Perform job hazard analysis and ensure safety protocols and PPE before work.
• Test electrical components and replace faulty parts as needed.
• Maintain all equipment and ensure safe operation of tools and facilities.
• Prepare accurate reports and communicate customer satisfaction feedback to management.
• Adhere to federal, state, local regulations and company safety policies.
• Represent the company professionally and stay current with product updates.

We are seeking a skilled, motivated, and adaptable Scale Field Service Technician to join our growing team. This role is responsible for installing, calibrating, maintaining, and repairing industrial and commercial weighing equipment at customer sites and in our service facility.

• This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent
• Knowledge of machines and tools, electronic equipment, related hardware and software, including their uses, repair, and maintenance
• Basic electronic and mechanical knowledge, including working knowledge of a digital multimeter
• CDL CLASS B and NYS Weights & Measures certification a plus

Responsibilities
