JPMorgan Chase & Co. in New Jersey is seeking a software engineer with 3+ years of hands-on experience in design and development.

You will work on secure, scalable code across large corporate systems, collaborating with global teams and using AI-assisted tooling within an Agile environment. The role requires strong programming skills (Scala/Java/Python), AWS experience, and a solid foundation in big data, algorithms, and secure practices.

Qualifications

• We have formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, plus 3+ years of applied experience.
• Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language, with Scala, Java, and Python in that order of preference.
• Strong big data and database skills.
• Experience with AWS cloud services such as ECS, EKS, EMR, and Lambda.
• Understand data structures, algorithms, and efficient coding practices.
• Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment.
• Collaborate with global teams across multiple time zones.
• Self-starters who engage with team members, users, and partner teams to deliver solutions.
• Familiar with agile methods such as Scrum, plus CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
• Experience using approved AI-assisted software development tools and validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
• Understand responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs/outputs, resilience and security, and coaching others on safe adoption.
• Preferred: Spark and distributed computing.

Responsibilities

• Execute standard software solutions, including design, development, and debugging.
• Write secure, high-quality code in at least one language with limited guidance.
• Design, develop, code, and troubleshoot with upstream and downstream systems in mind.
• Use SDLC tools to improve automation value.
• Apply technical troubleshooting to break down solutions and resolve basic issues.
• Gather, analyze, and interpret large, diverse data sets to support secure, stable application development.
• Learn and apply system processes and skills to build secure, stable code and systems.
• Drive adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, speed, and outcomes while maintaining validation standards.
• Apply SDLC tools, including AI-assisted development and automation, to maximize automation benefits.
