Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company seeks an entry-level helper to assist skilled craftsmen in scaffolding projects. You will learn to read blueprints, identify tools, and support erecting and disassembling scaffolding and related structures.

Ideal candidates understand written and oral instructions, possess basic tool knowledge, and are willing to work outdoors in all weather, with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required with field experience.
• Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with supervision.
• Field experience in chosen craft discipline.
• Knowledge of safe and efficient use of hand tools, power tools and layout tools.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and specifications to determine scope, locations, quantities and materials required.
• Identify tools needed and measure, mark, and cut materials to required specifications.
• Assist skilled craftsman to erect/disassemble scaffolding and install ladders, handrails, walkways, platforms and gangways.
• Assist with construction, reinforcement and dismantling of pre-constructed scaffolds.
• Build and construct wooden scaffolds and auxiliary items.
• Perform rigging of equipment loads.

Position Summary

Assist skilled craftsperson(s) by performing supportive duties as directed and will work under immediate supervision. The level and degree of job responsibilities and requirements vary depending on months of experience and assigned job step.

Primary Responsibilities And Duties

• Learn to read blueprints and specification to determine the scope of work: locations, quantities, and sizes of materials required.
• Learn to identify all tools required for tasks and measure, mark, and cut required wooden/metallic materials to required specifications.
• Assist skilled craftsman to erect and disassemble scaffolding for buildings and other structures and installs ladders, handrails, walkways, platforms, and gangways.
• Assist with construction, re-enforcement, and dismantling pre-constructed scaffolds.
• Assist with buildin and constructing wooden Scaffolds and auxiliary items.
• Perform work involving rigging of equipment loads.

Qualifications

• May require a high school diploma or its equivalent with previous years of experience in the field or in a related area.
• Must possess knowledge skills and abilities for position
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management/supervision
• Field experience in chosen craft discipline
• Knowledge of the safe and efficient use of hand tools, power tools and layout tools.

Requirements

• Able to meet all physical requirements.
• Must have all required tools
• Expected to climb and work at heights and in confined spaces (may exceed 200 ft)
• Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Able to work overtime, nights, and weekends as required by the workload
• Observe and comply with all safety and project rules. Performs other duties as required.
