Job summary

Austin Industrial is hiring a Scaffold Builder Journeyman to construct, assemble, maintain and dismantle tubular scaffolding in industrial settings across the U.S. The role requires a minimum of 3 years of scaffolding experience and a certification as a lubrication technician, with strict adherence to OSHA and site-specific safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma with a certification as a lubrication technician.
• 3 years’ minimum experience in scaffolding.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Determines type of scaffold needed.
• Inspects job site and all scaffold material for defects and safety hazards.
• Effectively communicates safety hazards and mitigates hazards prior to construction of scaffolding.
• Transports tubular scaffold or other structural material and erects the scaffold to the dimensions required.
• Hoists scaffolding materials upward to erect temporary structure.
• Secures and levels locking sections of scaffolding material.
• Secures scaffold to the permanent structure for added stability.
• Adheres to OSHA, site-specific and Austin Industrial requirements for erecting and navigating scaffolding.
• Performs final inspection of completed scaffolding.
• Dismantles scaffolding when instructed and safely stows material after dismantling.
