Job summary

BrandSafway is actively seeking a Scaffold Helper to support scaffold erection, modification, and dismantling on commercial and industrial sites within the NYC market. You will work under the direction of the Foreman to ensure safe, efficient builds that comply with NYC DOB, OSHA, and company standards.

The role involves labor tasks, material handling, site coordination, and contributing to a safe and productive work environment.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of construction or scaffolding experience preferred.
• NYC DOB 40-Hour SST (Site Safety Training) Card required.
• NYC DOB 32-Hour Supported Scaffold Installer and Remover Certification required.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification highly preferred.
• Basic understanding of scaffold components, tools, and terminology.
• Physically capable of lifting 50+ lbs, working at heights, and standing, bending, and climbing for extended periods.
• Comfortable working in various weather conditions and challenging job site environments.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
• Valid driver’s license preferred; ability to travel between NYC job sites may be required.
• Willingness to obtain additional certifications as needed.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with foremen, supervisors, and crew members to support daily job site operations and follow direction related to job scope, sequencing, and expectations.
• Assist in relaying field conditions or issues that may impact safety, schedule, or productivity.
• Support the erection, modification, and dismantling of scaffolding systems in accordance with design specifications.
• Perform general labor tasks including loading, unloading, staging, and transporting scaffold materials.
• Assist with complex builds in urban environments, including high-rise and confined spaces.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment at all times.
• Follow all OSHA, NYC DOB, and company safety standards, including proper use of PPE and fall protection systems.
• Participate in daily safety briefings, toolbox talks, and hazard assessments.
