Job summary

The Brock Group Inc. in Baton Rouge, LA, is seeking a Scaffold Apprentice to assist in building, demoing, staging and modifying components of scaffolding at ExxonMobil - Baton Rouge Refinery. The role emphasizes safety training, teamwork, and adherence to Brock and governmental safety standards.

You will learn by working with a Scaffold Journeyman and Foreman, reading specifications, installing scaffold systems, and completing required safety documentation in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent (Level I) required.
• 1 year scaffold experience preferred.
• 2 years’ scaffold experience preferred.
• Adherence to regional and local requirements (level I–IV).

Responsibilities

• Promote Brock’s safety culture and ensure compliance with all safety requirements.
• Follow Mentor guidance per SSW Program and use proper tools and equipment.
• Develop ability to read specifications and blueprints.
• Install scaffold components (steel pipes, braces, clamps) and choose appropriate scaffold type.
• Sort, organize and count material; complete safety paperwork (e.g., FLRA’s, Sharp Cards).
• Perform other duties as assigned.
