Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. seeks a SCADA Systems Engineer to develop and support supervision and control systems for the electric power industry. You will configure, validate, and troubleshoot SAGE SCADA-based solutions in both factory and field environments.

Candidates should bring experience with SCADA protocols, Linux systems, and databases, and be prepared to travel up to 75% to support projects across sites.

Qualifications

• Technical degree in automation or related field.
• Experience with the SAGE SCADA system.
• Knowledge of SCADA communication protocols (MMS, DNP3, IEC 60870-5-101/104, Modbus, SNMP).
• Linux knowledge (CentOS, Rocky Linux) and databases (PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server).
• Understanding of network topologies and experience configuring switches.
• Knowledge of network redundancy protocols (RSTP, PRP, HSR).
• Willingness to travel up to 75% and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, configure, and validate supervision and control systems using SAGE SCADA platform (CEPEL).
• Perform integration, commissioning, and technical support for SCADA systems in factory and field environments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to SCADA, networks, databases, and infrastructure.
• Follow SEL Values and World Class Manufacturing Principles.
• Promote simplification of processes and activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
