Job summary

Barry‑Wehmiller BW Packaging Facility in Illinois is seeking a Manufacturing Intelligence Engineer to design and implement SCADA and industrial control solutions for capital projects. This role supports the Perpetua Group to improve performance and deliver reliable systems.

Travel up to 50% is required, domestically and internationally. You will lead project execution, develop software, and collaborate with clients to ensure schedules and quality while building strong cross‑functional

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in system integration, SCADA and/or MES development.
Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Electrical or Computer preferred).
Strong working knowledge of Rockwell FactoryTalk Optix & View (Ignition, Wonderware/Aveva a plus).
Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills applicable to design, programming, and troubleshooting of SCADA, MES, Analytics, and mobile, virtualization, and database technologies.
Familiarity with Rockwell Allen‑Bradley (ControlLogix, PLC5, SLC500), Siemens PLCs, PanelView HMIs, industrial networks and .NET programming (preferred).
Ability to manage multiple project responsibilities and travel up to 50%.
Experience in the food and beverage or consumer packaging industries (preferred).

Responsibilities

Design SCADA systems, databases, interfaces, data handling and reporting.
Implement software control algorithms; develop data file structures; configure displays and data transmission software.
Develop, implement, and maintain debugging and support software for reliability and performance.
Configure and commission industrial control packages for manufacturing environments and robust plans.
Provide technical project execution, including deliverables, schedule and quality, ensuring customer satisfaction.
Interface with clients to define and manage scope on complex projects with strong technical leadership.
Plan project timelines and collaborate with Project Management for effective execution.
Provide programming and onsite startup support for integrated packaging lines and processes.
Lead and coordinate multiple scopes of work across phases, guiding teams.
Communicate with client stakeholders to clarify scopes and deliverables, building long‑term relationships.
