Job summary

SJE is seeking a SCADA Network Specialist to install, maintain, and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network infrastructure in our Madison, WI SCADA environments. You will work with the Altronex brand, collaborating with software development and field service teams to deliver secure, reliable control systems.

The role emphasizes configuring Windows workstations/servers, managing LAN/WAN, VPNs, firewalls, and IT/OT cybersecurity practices, with opportunities to contribute to network design

Qualifications

• Experience supporting and troubleshooting Windows Workstation and Server environments.
• Knowledge of LAN/WAN networking concepts, including TCP/IP, routing, and subnetting.
• Experience configuring and supporting switches, firewalls, and network security devices.
• Familiarity with SCADA systems and industrial control system (ICS) environments.
• Understanding of IT/OT network segmentation and cybersecurity best practices.
• Experience with Active Directory, authentication, and directory services.
• Knowledge of VPNs, remote access solutions, and secure communications.
• Experience deploying and maintaining wireless data transceivers and Ethernet infrastructure.
• Familiarity with VoIP systems and PBX configuration.
• Experience with software deployment, patch management, and system updates.
• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
• Ability to analyze and resolve technical issues independently.
• Strong communication skills and ability to support both technical and non-technical users.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot computer hardware, peripherals, software, and network infrastructure within our SCADA environments.
• Configure, support, and maintain hardware and software for customer systems, partnering with software development and field service teams.
• Support desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and network devices while maintaining LAN and WAN connectivity across SCADA infrastructure.
• Analyze and resolve technical issues, monitor network performance and security, and ensure system integrity through proper routing, authentication, and security controls.
• Administer switches, firewalls, VoIP systems, and manage software deployment, updates, and patching to maintain reliability and compliance.
• Contribute to SCADA IT/OT enhancement projects, assist with network design and deployment, configure Windows Workstation and Server environments.
• Support wireless, Ethernet, and firewall technologies; provide user training and responsive technical support.
