Job summary

Longroad Energy seeks a SCADA Engineer to develop and support its LongView platform across 50+ solar, energy storage, and wind projects.

The role is ~60% LongView application development and ~40% fleet SCADA support and integration, requiring strong Python and Ignition skills, plus Modbus/OPC UA/MQTT experience.

You will collaborate with EPC vendors, O&M technicians, IT teams, and travel up to 30%.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in SCADA & Automation with a focus on SCADA integration.
• 4+ years with Ignition SCADA, Perspective/ Vision, scripting, and UDT.
• Strong Python for Ignition scripting.
• Experience with Historians, SQL, and databases.
• Experience with Modbus, OPC UA, MQTT.
• Experience on utility-scale solar, energy storage, or wind projects.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication; travel up to 30%.

Responsibilities

• Support Greenfield Commissioning and SCADA Integration.
• Develop LongView applications and Ignition-based views, dashboards, and KPIs.
• Design custom alarm strategies, downtime workflows, and data historization.
• Integrate SCADA with enterprise applications to automate ROC and site workflows.
• Support IED telemetry troubleshooting, upgrades, and patches.
• Coordinate with OEM SCADA providers, IT/ROC for outages and changes.
