Job summary

RandomTrees LLC is seeking an experienced engineer to configure, test, and support SCADA, GMS, and EMS systems. The role emphasizes database modeling, asset hierarchies, equipment templates, and integration with control-center platforms such as Hitachi Energy Network Manager.

Proficiency in DNP3, ICCP/TASE.2, IEC 61850, and Modbus is required. Responsibilities include developing test plans, validating system performance in lab and field environments, and ensuring reliable operation of telemetry

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive experience configuring, testing, or supporting SCADA/GMS/EMS.
• Hands-on experience with SCADA/GMS database modeling, including point creation, asset hierarchies, equipment templates, communications, calculations, alarms, displays.
• Experience with Hitachi Energy Network Manager or a comparable utility control-center platform.
• Knowledge of telemetry concepts: DNP3, ICCP/TASE.2, IEC 61850, Modbus.
• Experience creating or maintaining HMI displays, one-line diagrams, tabular displays, alarms, thresholds, deadbands, calculated points, historian feeds, and external telemetry interfaces.

Job description

• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience configuring, testing, or supporting SCADA, GMS, EMS.
• Hands-on experience with SCADA/GMS database modeling, including point creation, asset hierarchies, equipment templates, communications, calculations, alarms, displays, and database promotion through controlled environments.
• Experience configuring or supporting Hitachi Energy Network Manager or a comparable utility control-center platform.
• Working knowledge of DNP3, ICCP/TASE.2, IEC 61850, Modbus, and related telemetry concepts, including addressing, polling, scan rates, data quality, timestamps, scaling, latency, and failover.
• Experience developing and executing integration and regression test plans in laboratory and field environments, documenting results, managing defects, and verifying operational acceptance.
• Experience creating or maintaining HMI displays, one-line diagrams, tabular displays, alarms, thresholds, deadbands, calculated points, historian feeds, and external telemetry interfaces.
