Actalent is hiring a SCADA/PLC Controls Engineer to design and implement high-availability automation for generators, MV gear, fuel systems, and data-center SCADA environments. You will program PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens S7), create HMI screens, alarms, tags, and graphics, and ensure secure SCADA networks.

Responsibilities include testing blackstart, load-transfer, and failover sequences, FAT/SAT/IST, and integrating MV switchgear and generator controls.

Qualifications

• Develop PLC logic using Allen-Bradley, Siemens S7, or similar platforms.
• Create SCADA HMI screens, alarm structures, historian tags, and graphics.
• Integrate MV switchgear, generator controls, fuel systems, and interlocks.
• Conduct blackstart, load-transfer, and failover sequence testing.
• Perform FAT/SAT/IST, including generator paralleling and MV transitions.
• Develop SCADA network segmentation, VLANs, and secure access pathways.
• Experience with Inductive Automation Ignition

Description

The SCADA/PLC Controls Engineer is responsible for developing and implementing high-availability automation logic for generators, medium-voltage gear, fuel systems, and plant-level SCADA environments within hyperscale data centers. This role involves programming PLCs using platforms such as Allen-Bradley and Siemens S7, designing SCADA HMI screens, alarm structures, historian tags, and graphics, and integrating critical systems like MV switchgear, generator controls, and fuel systems. The engineer conducts blackstart, load-transfer, and failover sequence testing, supports Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and Integrated Systems Testing (IST), and ensures secure SCADA network segmentation and access pathways. Strong experience in industrial automation, PLC programming, and SCADA development is required, along with a solid understanding of MV systems, generator control logic, and redundancy schemes. Experience with Inductive Automation Ignition and familiarity with owner-specific SCADA conventions are preferred.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $57.69 - $81.73/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
