Job Summary (SCADA Engineer – Alpharetta, GA)
- Design, implement, and maintain SCADA systems for industrial automation processes, focusing on healthcare industry requirements.
- Develop SCADA solutions using platforms such as AVEVA/Wonderware (System Platform, InTouch, Historian), OSI PI, and related software.
- Configure and program SCADA software to monitor and control processes across sectors like manufacturing, energy, mining, and utilities.
- Integrate SCADA systems with historians (OSI PI, Wonderware, AVEVA) for data acquisition, analysis, and reporting.
- Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver tailored automation solutions.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot SCADA software and PLCs, ensuring seamless integration with existing infrastructure.
- Develop custom scripts (JavaScript, Python, VBScript, etc.) to enhance SCADA system functionality.
- Conduct system testing, commissioning, upgrades, and modifications while adhering to industry best practices.
- Provide technical support and training to end-users, addressing issues and ensuring system reliability.
- Stay updated on new SCADA technologies through ongoing training.
- Utilize knowledge of computer networking architectures, programming languages (JavaScript, Visual Basic, C#), and industrial communication protocols (Modbus, OPC UA/DA, DNP3, TCP/IP).
- Set up and manage SQL databases to capture data streams and create custom queries.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% after potential conversion to FTE; current work is mostly remote.
- Healthcare industry experience required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience required.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills essential.
- Experience with system integration using data access technologies (JSON, REST, XML) and automation to improve user experience (UX).
