Job summary

Knoxville Utilities Board seeks a skilled SCADA technician to ensure safe, reliable operation, maintenance, and repair of SCADA equipment across electric substation facilities and distribution systems.

You will program RTUs/IEDs, perform detailed wiring and testing, and maintain detailed PQM/3-phase recloser documentation while supporting installation, monitoring, and repair of SCADA systems. Strong communication and decision-making under pressure are essential.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of two years of experience or technical training in a related field.
Ability to read schematics, diagrams, and operations maintenance manuals.
Good written and oral communication, interpersonal, and team skills.
Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

Program RTU and IED devices and perform end-to-end testing.
Maintain detailed documentation for PQMs, 3-phase reclosers, communication, and control equipment.
Support installation, monitoring, and repair of SCADA systems, including design and development of technical solutions.
Respond to system emergencies, perform distribution system troubleshooting and restoration, and conduct training on operations and safety.
Lead or participate in training sessions on electric system operations, testing procedures, and safety protocols.
