Job summary

The City of Columbus, Division of Water & Power, is seeking a Water Distribution Operator I. This full-time position operates SCADA from the Control Center to monitor and control the water distribution system, coordinating with field staff and WTPs to maintain system pressures and service.

Minimum qualifications include an EPA State of Ohio Class I Water Distribution Operator or higher certificate and a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Operate SCADA to monitor and control the water distribution system.
• Coordinate with field maintenance staff for repairs and maintenance of distribution sites.
• Monitor pumping and coordinate with Water Treatment Plants to maintain pressures and levels.
• Enter daily logs, generate reports, and support shift-to-shift continuity.
• Assist in remote exercising of PRVs and update internal system data files.
