Job summary

City of Columbus is seeking a Water Reclamation Plant Operator at Jackson Pike Reclamation Plant to run SCADA systems, monitor equipment, collect samples, and maintain records. The role requires a valid Ohio EPA Wastewater Operator certificate and a current driver’s license.

The position entails shift work on the RUNAROUND schedule, training duties, and potential minor maintenance tasks to support the water reclamation process.

Qualifications

• EPA Ohio wastewater operator certificate is required.
• Valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Operates SCADA to monitor reclaimed water, biosolids and effluent flows.
• Starts/stops pumps, engines, and generators to control flow via computer or operator interface.
• Maintains logs of shift operations and records meter readings.
• Collects sewage samples and checks autosamplers.
• Trains less experienced operators in specific areas.
• Performs basic maintenance such as lubrication and light painting.
• Inspects incinerator and maintains burner control.
