Job summary

King County is seeking an Industrial Instrument Technician at the South Treatment Plant in Renton, WA. This role focuses on constructing, troubleshooting, maintaining, and preventive maintenance of instrumentation and controls across wastewater facilities, with emphasis on SCADA programming and system upgrades.

The position requires journey-level instrumentation expertise, familiarity with SCADA/DCS, and safe work practices.

Qualifications

• Three years of journey-level instrumentation experience.
• Knowledge of physics, chemistry and math for instrument work.
• Experience with analyzers/sensors, PLCs, SCADA/DCS and related control systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and calibration of DCS/SCADA/PLC-based instrumentation.
• Troubleshoot and repair electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Assist in inspection and commissioning of instrumentation with contractors.
