Zusammenfassung

King County is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic for the West Point Treatment Plant in Seattle. The role involves troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of rotating mechanical equipment and piping systems in an industrial wastewater setting.

You’ll work both independently and with a skilled team, using PPE and following Lock-Out Tag Out procedures. Opportunity for advancement exists within the division and through project work.

Qualifikationen

• Extensive knowledge of safe use, care, and operation of hand, power, and pneumatic tools for maintenance and repair.
• Strong knowledge of large-scale piping, installation, maintenance, and repair in wastewater facilities.
• Proficient welding skills (MIG, TIG, stick) for fabrication and repair of heavy equipment.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, schematics, manuals, and technical instructions; document work performed clearly.
• Knowledge of rigging, hoisting, and safe operation of overhead cranes for moving heavy equipment.
• Ability to lead or mentor less-experienced mechanics or helpers.

Aufgaben

• Perform maintenance, repair, and overhaul of complex mechanical machinery (pumps, blowers, gearboxes, conveyors, etc.).
• Install and repair large piping systems in a wastewater treatment facility.
• Fabricate and repair piping and heavy equipment; contribute to design improvements.
• Safely use hand, power, and pneumatic tools and equipment.
• Provide guidance to junior mechanics and helpers on complex tasks.
