Job summary

Greif, Inc. seeks a Senior Engineering Manager (SEM) to lead the SBU engineering organization across multiple sites (Chicago, IL; Delaware, OH; Atlanta, GA; Houston, TX).

You will translate business strategy into engineering priorities, manage capital programs, and develop future leaders while ensuring safe, reliable, and cost-effective equipment and processes. You will partner with Operations, EH&S, Finance, and Supply Chain, drive KPI performance, staffing, onboarding, and coaching.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required or equivalent.
• 10+ years of engineering and project management experience in manufacturing.
• 5+ years leading engineers or technical teams.
• Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional initiatives and capital programs.

Responsibilities

• Ensure SBU delivers reliable equipment solutions, safety, quality, cost, and schedule adherence.
• Provide leadership for plant facilities, equipment, tooling, automation, and standards.
• Lead major engineering projects across SBU, regional, and network.
• Manage engineering budget, variance, and forecasting with Finance.
• Develop external engineering partners and ensure safety standards with EH&S.
