Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 1 year SBA 7a and 504 loan underwriting experience; 5+ years preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of SBA lending rules, regulations and practices.
• Formal credit training preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and written skills.
• Ability to underwrite and handle a large volume of loans.
• Proficiency in Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite SBA loans in accordance with the Bank’s policies and procedures.
• Analyze complex financial information utilizing Moody’s Analytics software.
• Facilitate ordering and receiving third party credit reports (appraisals, environmental, credit bureaus, OFAC).
• Deliver excellent service to customers inside and outside the Bank.
• Provide frequent communication to all parties involved in transactions.
• Manage the process to ensure timely reviews and accurate, efficient closing of loans.
• Provide guidance and training to team members involved in processing and funding loans.
• Ensure all loans comply with regulatory requirements.
• Maintain knowledge of underwriting guidelines and contribute to policy input.
• Review and sign off underwriting conditions promptly.
• Ensure pre-funding quality control steps are completed.
