Remote | Must reside in the Dallas, TX or Chicago, IL market
Close Deals That Build Businesses
Behind every new franchise location and neighborhood restaurant is a loan that had to close cleanly and on time. A growing, relationship-focused financial institution is looking for an experienced SBA Loan Closer to be the person who makes that happen.
You'll join an established Franchise and Restaurant lending team that is known for its collaborative culture, its autonomy, and its refusal to micromanage. This is a hands-on individual contributor role in a team where your expertise is respected, your voice is heard, and your work directly fuels the growth of a thriving lending platform.
Why You'll Love This Role
- Real flexibility. Work remotely, onsite, or hybrid. The team is primarily remote, with flexible hours.
- A team that likes each other. Close-knit and collaborative, with regular in-person gatherings in Dallas and Chicago.
- Ownership, literally. An Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) with typical contributions of about 10%-12% of base salary, on top of your base pay and bonus eligibility.
- Autonomy. You'll be trusted to run your own pipeline of closings without someone looking over your shoulder.
- Momentum. The franchise and restaurant lending platform is growing, and you'll help shape it.
What You'll Do
- Own the closing process for SBA loan transactions, with a focus on SBA 7(a), from documentation through funding
- Review loan documents for accuracy, completeness, and SBA compliance
- Partner with lending, underwriting, and franchise teams to keep closings on schedule
- Make sure every file meets SBA guidelines, regulatory requirements, and internal credit policies
- Spot and solve documentation discrepancies and closing issues before they become delays
- Coordinate with borrowers, attorneys, lenders, and other third parties
- Keep your SBA 7(a) knowledge sharp as programs, policies, and procedures evolve
- Manage multiple transactions at once with strong organization and clear communication
- Help build a positive team culture and support the growth of the franchise and restaurant platform
What You Bring
Required
- 3+ years of SBA lending experience, ideally focused on SBA 7(a) loans
- Deep knowledge of SBA 7(a) guidelines, requirements, and closing procedures
- Proven experience managing SBA closings from documentation through funding
- Experience beyond PPP or SBA Express programs
- Strong command of SBA documentation, compliance, and regulatory requirements
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple closings
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A positive, collaborative mindset, and the ability to work independently while staying connected to the team
A plus, but not required
- Franchise or restaurant lending experience
- Performance-based bonus eligibility
- ESOP: typical contributions of approximately 10%-12% of base salary
- Flexible work: remote, onsite, or hybrid, with flexible hours (availability expected through at least 3:00 p.m.)
- Paid time off: VP level: three weeks of vacation, three personal days, and six sick days
- AVP level: two weeks of vacation
The Bottom Line
If you're an SBA closing professional who wants flexibility, strong compensation, a real ownership stake, and a team that values relationships over red tape, this is a rare find. Title and tenure are flexible based on your experience, and the organization typically brings closers on at the AVP or VP level. This is an individual contributor role without an immediate management track.
