Job summary

Carter Bank in Greensboro, NC seeks an SBA Loan Closer to manage closings for SBA 7(a) loan transactions. You will coordinate with borrowers, attorneys, title companies, and relationship managers to ensure timely closings and accurate funding.

The role requires experience with SBA SOP closing requirements, meticulous documentation, and strong organizational and communication skills to support the closing lifecycle.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Prior SBA 7(a) loan closing experience is required.
• Intermediate knowledge of SBA SOP closing requirements and funding procedures.

Responsibilities

• Manage SBA 7(a) loan closings from conditional approval through funding, including ordering title, coordinating appraisals, and preparing closing checklists.
• Review SBA authorization documents and ensure all conditions are satisfied prior to closing.
• Prepare and review closing packages in compliance with SBA SOP requirements and internal closing policy.
• Coordinate directly with borrowers, attorneys, title companies, and RMs to resolve open items and schedule closings.
• Ensure timely funding and accurate disbursement of loan proceeds.
• Verify that all closing documentation meets SBA and lender requirements before funding.
• Maintain complete and organized closing files throughout the transaction lifecycle.
• Support post-closing processes including SBA note registration, file delivery to servicing, and guarantee purchase documentation.
• Stay current on SBA SOP closing requirements and internal policy updates.
