Big River Forest Products - Vicksburg is seeking a Green End (Sawmill) Superintendent to lead safety, production and maintenance teams in Vicksburg, MS. You will manage process flow, resources and workforce to meet budgets and performance targets.

Responsibilities include improving productivity, hiring and coaching staff, analyzing quality data, and implementing corrective actions through supervisory staff to ensure lumber quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5 years of verifiable lumber/wood production experience.
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience.
• Excellent interpersonal skills – conflict management, coaching, supportive feedback, and problem solving.
• Strong mechanical and technical knowledge for a complex manufacturing environment.
• Read and interpret blueprints; Bluebeam software knowledge, CAD knowledge a plus.
• Must be computer literate, including MS Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Lean manufacturing/5S experience a plus.

Responsabilités

• Maintain high safety standards and lead by example, ensuring procedures and regulations are followed.
• Identify opportunities to improve productivity, reduce costs, and maximize lumber quality, value, and recovery.
• Engage production and maintenance staff to meet targets and address deficiencies constructively.
• Develop and implement programs to ensure product meets standards and drive corrective actions through Supervisors.
• Analyze quality data and initiate corrective action plans as needed.
• Review raw materials daily and adjust to meet production budgets.
• Foster a culture of open and respectful communication.
• Hire, train, coach, mentor, develop and supervise employees.
• Conduct performance reviews based on job descriptions to determine competencies.
