Hood Industries seeks a skilled Controls/PLC Technician to join our expanding sawmill operation. You will diagnose, repair, and optimize PLC-controlled electrical and instrumentation systems across plant equipment, including sawmill, planer, boiler, and kiln operations.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of industrial PLC experience.
• Manufacturing experience required; wood products experience preferred.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and blueprints.
• Willing and able to work any shift, holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed.
• Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, and work in industrial environments for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical machinery and control systems throughout the plant.
• Diagnose and resolve PLC, electrical, instrumentation, and process control issues.
• Interpret PLC logic and make modifications to improve equipment performance.
• Implement and support new control systems and upgrades to improve efficiency.
• Coordinate work activities with production and maintenance leadership to minimize downtime.
• Maintain backups for all computer systems and PLC programs.
• Set up and operate test equipment to evaluate performance and document results.
