Qualifications

• Experience in industrial manufacturing, lumber/sawmill, or heavy production environments.
• Direct experience operating mobile equipment (loaders, forklifts, heavy machinery) in a mill setting is strongly preferred.
• Ability to understand, follow detailed standard operating and safety procedures.
• Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs/ladders, and perform physical tasks for extended shift hours.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot primary sawmill equipment and machinery.
• Train and operate mobile equipment and production stations to cover absences and bottlenecks.
• Maintain target production speeds, manage material flow, and diagnose hiccups to reduce downtime.
• Promote a zero-incident safety culture by following safety rules and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
• Safely use walk behind powered industrial trucks.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, maintenance teams, and fellow crew members to report issues.
