Job summary

The Baillie Group, through Midwest Hardwoods in Wisconsin, is seeking a Sawmill Manager to direct and optimize mill operations on the floor, focusing on safety, production, maintenance, and quality. You will lead a diverse team, coordinate with maintenance and procurement, and drive continuous improvement across the sawmill and kiln operations, while controlling costs and ensuring OSHA compliance.

Qualifications

4-year degree is a plus but not required.
Experience in sawmill, kiln, concentration yard, or related hardwood lumber operations preferred.
Proven ability to respectfully manage a diverse workforce.
Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

Coordinate mill operations with safety, production, maintenance, and quality teams.
Train employees in safe practices and enforce OSHA-compliant procedures.
Manage plant performance against production and quality standards.
Lead and develop managers and supervisors; foster high morale.
