Job summary

Rayonier is seeking a Saw Filer for the mill site to maintain filing room equipment and repair saws, knifes, and guides. The role requires precision tool use, basic mechanical skills, and the ability to troubleshoot during night shifts (3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.).

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or GED.
• Proficient in reading work orders and basic documentation.
• Experience with basic mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, align machinery, and assist in maintaining mill equipment.
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Clean, lubricate, and perform routine maintenance on filing room equipment.
• Examine parts for damage using micrometers and gauges.
• Write and understand work orders.
• Perform housekeeping after each job and other duties as assigned.

Job description

The primary responsibility is maintaining the filing room equipment and repairing saws, knifes, and guides throughout the mill site. The Saw Filer will be required to use precision tools and troubleshooting skills to resolve mechanical or sawing problems that may occur.

The hourly rate of pay for this position is $28.66.

Key Activities

• Live the Safety Value; lead safety by personal example; comply with safety regulations, rules, policies, and practices for Safety
• Troubleshoot, align machinery, and assist in maintaining mill equipment
• Take ownership and be accountable for all work performed
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on equipment
• Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on filing room equipment
• Examine parts for damage or excessive wear, using micrometers and gauges
• Ability to write and understand a work order
• Perform housekeeping duties after each job is completed or as assigned.
• Performs all other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  
  

Requirements
