Job summary

M-D KY Finishing, LLC is seeking a Saw Operator to operate air and hydraulic table saws, cutting extruded metal to precise lengths per work tickets. The role emphasizes accuracy, safety, and efficient pace alongside the extrusion press.

Responsibilities include inspecting for flaws, recording totals, stacking finished material, and maintaining a clean work area. On-the-job training is provided in a team-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret work tickets and shop papers.
• Proficiency in using tape measures and checking measurements.
• High school diploma or GED preferred; manufacturing experience helpful.

Responsibilities

• Operate air and hydraulic table saws safely and efficiently to cut extruded metal.
• Cut material accurately to specified lengths according to work tickets.
• Inspect extruded metal for flaws and remove defective sections.
• Record pieces cut on saw tickets and maintain records.
• Stack material on aging carts with minimal damage to finished product.
• Check metal for proper length, hole spacing, carpet barbs, and hammering patterns to meet specs.
• Assist with loading dummy blocks in the extrusion press as needed.
• Process scrap material for recycling and load onto scrap trailer.
• Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
• Perform other duties of equal or lesser complexity as assigned.
• Interact professionally with all employees.
