Job summary

Join Our Team in Louisville, KY is seeking a Saw Operator responsible for operating air and hydraulic table saws to cut extruded metal to specified lengths. You will follow work tickets, inspect output, and keep pace with the extrusion press.

Responsibilities include cutting to spec, inspecting for flaws, recording pieces, stacking material, and maintaining a clean work area. Overtime and physical stamina required; on-the-job training provided.

Qualifications

• Ability to operate air and hydraulic table saws to cut extruded metal per specs.
• Ability to read and interpret work tickets and shop papers.
• Proficiency with tape measures and measuring accuracy.
• Basic writing and math skills to complete daily production records.
• Basic verbal communication to understand assignments and report issues.
• Good motor skills and hand-eye coordination for safe operation.
• Ability to stand for 10–12 hours per shift.
• Ability to lift 50–100 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Operate saws safely and efficiently to keep pace with the extrusion press.
• Cut material accurately to specified lengths per work tickets.
• Inspect extruded metal for flaws and remove defective sections.
• Record pieces cut on saw tickets and maintain records.
• Stack material on aging carts with minimal damage.
• Check length, hole spacing, and patterns to meet specs.
• Assist with loading dummy blocks as needed.
• Process scrap material for recycling.
• Maintain a clean, orderly work area.
• Interact professionally with all employees.
