Job summary

Industrial Metal Supply Co. in Phoenix is seeking a Machine Saw Operator to safely operate forklifts, side loaders and other industrial equipment to move raw metal materials from inventory to cutting cells.

This entry-level opportunity focuses on learning various saw cutting machines (plate, band, shear) and developing accuracy with calipers and micrometers while contributing to efficient production and inventory control.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (preferred)
• Basic math and mechanical skills
• Experience with measurement hand tools such as micrometers and calipers
• 1+ years’ experience operating a forklift
• 1+ years' experience working on a saw machine, or other industrial machinery
• 1+ year of experience working in a warehouse, production, distribution or manufacturing environment
• Read, write, and speak in English
• Experience in the metal cutting/distribution industry is a plus
• Ability to lift up-to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Ensures orderly distribution of products by pulling orders from inventory, delivering production materials and supplies to other cells, and staging finished product for distribution.
• Inspect cut material for accuracy and defects using measuring devices (calipers, micrometers, pin-gauges, etc.)
• Contributes to the orderly operation of stock and/or materials storage area.
• Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and keeping materials and supplies in stock, recording location of inventory, and reporting shortages.
