Job summary

Sentry is seeking a Saw Operator to support our Manufacturing Division, producing precision-cut materials for fabrication, structural steel, and custom-built systems. This hands-on role emphasizes accurate cutting, precise tape-measure measurements, reading shop drawings, and maintaining a clean, safe work area while supporting welding, machining, and assembly teams.

You will operate band saws, load and stage materials, perform basic blade changes, and help prepare parts for welding and assembly

Responsibilities

• Operate band saws and cutting equipment to cut steel and structural materials.
• Measure and cut materials to exact specifications using a tape measure and cut lists.
• Read and follow shop drawings and production instructions.
• Maintain tight tolerances to support fabrication and CNC machining processes.
• Load, unload, and stage materials for production (forklift experience a plus).
• Perform blade changes and basic equipment adjustments.
• Organize cut materials for welders, fabricators, and assembly teams.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work area.

This role plays a key part in our in‑house manufacturing operation, ensuring materials are cut accurately and ready for welding, machining, and assembly. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong attention to detail, solid tape measure skills, and a positive attitude. We are willing to train the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate band saws and other cutting equipment to cut steel, tubing, and structural materials
• Measure and cut materials to exact specifications using a tape measure and cut lists
• Read and follow shop drawings and production instructions
• Maintain tight tolerances to support fabrication and CNC machining processes
• Load, unload, and stage materials for production (forklift or crane experience is a plus)
• Perform basic equipment maintenance including blade changes and adjustments
• Organize cut materials for welders, fabricators, and assembly teams
• Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work area

Preferred (Not Required)

Pay $18–$24/hour, depending on experience
