Commercial Tool & Die (CTD), located in Comstock Park, MI, seeks a Saw Operator. This entry-level role offers training, with an eye toward the Apprenticeship Program and company-paid coursework through Grand Rapids Community College.

The position emphasizes safety, PPE, and the chance to advance within a climate-controlled facility. The ideal candidate has a mechanical aptitude, is trainable, and can lift 25 pounds.

Qualifications

• Will train, no experience necessary.
• Must have good safety awareness and PPE compliance.
• Must be able to lift 25 pounds regularly.
• Overtime may be required.

Responsibilities

• Program, operate and tend saws and machines to cut material and adjust machine speed and tension.
• Adjust saw blades by turning hand wheels, pedals, levers, and panel buttons.
• Determine saw and cutting procedures according to QA studies or supervisor instructions.
• Count, sort, and stack finished pieces and dispose of waste material.
• Inspect material for imperfections and scrap when necessary.
• Replace defective or worn blades and bands with hand tools.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Clearly label raw material, work in progress, and finished goods.
• Comply with PPE, Lock Out, and safety requirements.
