Job summary

Universal Stainless & Alloy Products, Inc. in Bridgeville, PA, is seeking a Saw Operator to operate and monitor saw equipment in a manufacturing setting, following procedures to safely produce quality cut steel parts.

This entry begins as a Utility role with on-the-job training and potential advancement as you meet qualifications. Willingness to learn multiple processes and work in rotating shifts is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Previous manufacturing experience preferred but not required.
• On-the-job training will be provided.
• Additional training will be provided on assigned equipment and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor saw equipment to cut steel products according to established procedures and production requirements.
• Load, position, and secure material for cutting as required.
• Set up and operate saw equipment according to work instructions and training.
• Monitor cutting operations to ensure material is processed accurately and efficiently.
• Perform basic math and measurements to determine cutting requirements and verify material dimensions.
• Inspect material before and after processing for quality and accuracy.
• Monitor saw blades, equipment condition, and cutting performance and communicate concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Safely handle steel products and materials throughout the production process.
• Follow established work instructions, quality requirements, and production procedures.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
• Participate in 5S and housekeeping activities.
• Safely operate material‑handling equipment as trained and authorized.
• Work cooperatively with other operators, maintenance, quality, and manufacturing personnel.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
