Job summary

Aagard in Alexandria, MN is seeking a Saw Operator (Day Shift) to support production in the manufacturing department. You will operate and maintain saw equipment, handle materials, and record part movement in the ERP system to ensure efficient fabrication processes.

Responsibilities include monitoring equipment, producing quality parts, meeting specifications, and maintaining a clean, safe work area while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Read and understand the proper use of measuring instruments.
• Operate a forklift safely.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Basic shop math including rounding and metric system.
• Experience or training with computers and Aagard software.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain saw equipment to support production schedules and fabrication needs.
• Handle, move, and deliver material using forklifts or other material handling equipment.
• Accurately record part movement and material usage in the ERP system.
• Monitor equipment performance and adjust processes to maintain efficiency and minimize downtime.
• Produce quality parts and ensure cut parts meet specs.
• Identify and record issues in SharePoint to support corrective action workflows.
• Support team members by contributing to efficient and accurate fabrication processes.
• Communicate quality concerns proactively to prevent defects and maintain high standards.
• Maintain equipment and safety through routine preventive maintenance and safety policy adherence.
• Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and safety.

• Experience or training with computers and ability to learn and use Aagard specific software
• Ability to prioritize tasks
