Job summary

Aagard is seeking a dedicated Saw Operator to support production schedules and fabrication needs in our Minnesota operation. You will operate and maintain saw equipment, move materials with forklifts, record part movement in the ERP system, and contribute to a safe, efficient shop environment.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, ability to read measuring instruments, safe forklift operation, basic shop math, and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to read calipers and other measuring tools.
• Experience operating a forklift preferred.
• Must be safety-conscious and detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain saw equipment to support production schedules and fabrication needs.
• Handle, move, and deliver material using forklifts or other material handling equipment.
• Accurately record part movement and material usage in the ERP system.
• Monitor equipment performance and adjust processes to maintain efficiency and minimize downtime.
• Produce Quality Parts: Ensure cut parts meet dimensional and visual specifications.
• Identify and record issues in SharePoint to support corrective action workflows.
• Support team members by contributing to efficient and accurate fabrication processes.
• Communicate quality concerns proactively to prevent defects and maintain high standards.
• Maintain Equipment and Safety: Perform routine preventive maintenance on saw equipment and report issues promptly.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and safety.
• Identify potential safety hazards or equipment issues and take proactive measures to mitigate risks.

Knowledge and Experience

• Ability to read and understand the proper use of measuring instruments
• Ability to operate or learn to operate a forklift safely
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Basic shop math skills as rounding, positive/negative numbers, metric system
• Experience or training with computers and ability to learn and use Aagard specific software
• Ability to prioritize tasks
• Must be highly safety conscious
• Observant with attention to detail
• Conscientious of meeting and exceeding the internal customer requirements
