Job summary

UFP Industries, Inc. is seeking a Saw Operator I for the 1st shift (Tuesday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.) in Blanchester, OH. You will set up and operate a single-blade saw, read production schedules, and identify required material.

You will feed material, inspect for quality, maintain safe and orderly work areas, perform pre-shift inspections, and keep production records. A high school diploma or GED is preferred, with 3 months of saw experience or related manufacturing work preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma GED is preferred but not required.
• Minimum 3 months of experience using saws or similar equipment; some experience in manufacturing and assembling is preferred.
• Working knowledge of basic math preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and operates a single-blade saw.
• Reads production scheduling sheets and identifies required material.
• Feeds material according to specifications.
• Periodically checks equipment to ensure specifications are met.
• Offloads and stacks material following established procedures.
• Keeps work area safe, clean and organized; ensures equipment is safe to operate.
• Completes pre-shift startup equipment inspection checklist and reports issues.
• Maintains production records as required.
• Maintains compliance with safety and quality procedures; performs LOTO as required.
• Participates in safety, CI, and other programs and meetings.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
