Job summary

UFP Site Built is seeking a Saw Operator I for 1st shift to set up and run a single-blade saw. You will read production scheduling sheets and identify required material, feed and cut according to specifications, and maintain a clean, safe work area.

You will also conduct pre-shift inspections, document production records, check finished goods for quality, and participate in safety and continuous improvement programs as part of a dedicated manufacturing team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma GED is preferred but not required.
• Minimum 3 months of experience using saws or similar equipment; some experience in manufacturing and assembling is preferred.
• Working knowledge of basic math preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and operates a single-blade saw according to specifications.
• Reads production scheduling sheets and identifies required material.
• Feeds material according to specifications.
• Performs periodic checks to ensure specifications are met and records outcomes.
• Offloads and stacks material following established procedures; may label and band components.
• Maintains a safe, clean, and organized work area and ensures equipment is safe to operate.
• Completes pre-shift startup equipment inspection checklist and reports issues.
• Maintains production records and ensures compliance with standards.
• Performs duties in line with safety and quality procedures and participates in relevant programs.
