Job description

Overview

The Saw Operator is at the forefront of precision cutting, contributing to the creation of high-quality products. The Saw Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining cutting equipment, ensuring the accurate and efficient processing of aluminum materials. Primary tasks will include setting up, adjusting, and operating saws to cut aluminum extrusions according to specified dimensions. Attention to detail is paramount for inspection of materials for quality, making necessary adjustments, and monitoring the cutting process for optimal results. Your role extends beyond operation; routine maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment issues will be part of your responsibilities. Collaboration with the broader production team is essential to ensure a seamless workflow and the timely completion of orders. Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Set saw cut lengths
  • Lift extrusions and place them on table to cut
  • Perform all required Quality checks
  • Visually inspect metal as it is transferred to ensure it meets in-house quality standards
  • Pack metal according to customer requirements
  • Inspect cut length looking for burrs, scratches, chips, gouges, dents, bubbles, etc.
  • Blow off saw chips between each row
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area
  • May be asked to work in the packing department when Fabrication is not needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications

  • Desired: High School Diploma and/or Technical or Trade Degree or Certificate

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to lift and move heavy materials and equipment
  • Consistently exhibits a positive, respectful attitude towards co-workers and customers
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States, visa sponsorships are not available
