KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage material costs through stringent control of spend, usage, scrap, and inventory levels.
• Operate table saws, panel saws, miter saws, and other cutting equipment safely and efficiently.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders to determine material dimensions and cutting requirements.
• Measure and mark materials accurately using tape measures, calipers, and other tools.
• Select appropriate saw blades and machine settings based on material type and desired cut.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safety and efficiency.
• Inspect raw materials for quality before cutting and finished pieces for accuracy after cutting.
• Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on saw equipment.
• Assist with unloading, storing, and organizing raw materials as needed.
• Collaborate with team members in fabrication, assembly, and finishing departments.
• Follow all workplace safety policies and procedures, including PPE usage.
• Report equipment malfunctions or safety issues immediately to supervisors.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• 1-2 years of experience in fabrication or manufacturing preferred.
• Experience operating band saws and understanding cutting techniques is a strong asset.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong measurement and math skills; capable of working in imperial and metric units.
• Manual dexterity and physical stamina to handle repetitive tasks and stand for long periods.
• Commitment to producing high-quality work and meeting deadlines.
• Knowledge of sign industry materials (e.g., ACM, acrylic, PVC) is a plus.

COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands include:

• Moderate to heavy lifting.
