Job summary

Jim Myers & Sons, Inc. in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Saw Operator to support a busy Manufacturing Department. The role involves cutting stock to exact lengths and measurements in a safe, efficient manner to help meet production goals.

Responsibilities include reading blueprints, material handling, basic maintenance on two vertical band saws, and operating an overhead crane and forklift. A strong focus on safety, accuracy, and teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 2 years’ experience.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Knowledge of band saw operation and safety.
• Strong attention to detail, mechanically inclined, and extremely organized.
• Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations.
• Effective at prioritization, self-starter with the ability to work independently.
• Desire to learn and to continue developing knowledge and skills.
• High energy, team player with a positive attitude.
• Flexible work hours (standard shift 5:00am – 3:30pm, M-Th, Friday and Saturday OT as required).
• Ability to lift and carry 75 pounds.

Job Summary

• Knowledge of trade tools, equipment, materials, and method and techniques used in the safe operation of a band saw.
