Job summary

NTA Precision Axle Manufacturing in Carol Stream, IL is seeking a Saw Operator to support forging production by supplying raw materials and operating the Cut Off Saw and related controls. You will unload bar stock, set up machines, manage billets flow, and complete quality and PM documents.

The role requires a high school diploma, forklift experience, basic math, strong safety practices, and the ability to work an eight to twelve hour shift in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Unload bar stock bundles from Bar Stock Rack using Crane or Forklift to Saw Hopper.
• Set up and operate Bar Stock Rack and Cut Off Saw via PLCs and control panels.
• Manage flow of cut billets to floor storage and dispose of scrap.
• Perform saw blade and brush change overs.
• Complete quality, production and PM documents.
• Stand and walk for 8–12 hour shifts; follow 5S and PPE rules.

Job Title: Saw Operator

Summary:

Assists in the production of quality parts by providing raw materials to forging production that meet customer specifications.

Essential Job Functions

• Unloads bar stock bundles from Bar Stock Rack by using either Crane or Forklift to Saw Hopper. Manually break apart bundles and situate bars in Saw Hopper.
• Sets up and uses machine and PC interfaces to operate:
  • Bar Stock Rack (inventory PC & automation controls & remote),
  • Cut Off Saw (main PLC and each control panel)
• Continuously manage the flow of cut billets out of the saw to floor storage.
• Dispose of scrap properly.
• Manually performs saw blade and brush change overs.
• Accurately completes quality, production and daily PM documents.
• This position requires a combination of standing and walking for an entire eight to twelve hour shift.
• 5S of area daily and follows all PPE rules and company policies.

Hourly Rate:

$21.00/Hour The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity. At NTA Precision Axle, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.

Requirements

Job Requirements:

• Must have High School Diploma or equivalent
• Experience operating a forklift in a manufacturing environment (NTA will train and certify)
• Mechanical aptitude, knowledge of basic machine operations and controls, ability to troubleshoot processes and line equipment
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Basic math skills and attention to details
• Knowledge of safety practices
• Skill in both verbal and written communication

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. bump-cap, steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses and hearing protection are required in the Forging Department.
