Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Saw / Deburr Technician in Huntsville, AL, to read drawings and manage deburring, polishing, and finishing of precision parts. You will use hand and power tools, inspect for defects, and safely operate equipment in a fast-paced aerospace environment.

You must lift 35+ pounds and may work overtime; US citizenship and ability to obtain a Secret clearance are required. The role supports manufacturing with assembly, packaging and quality control tasks.

Qualifications

• High School diploma/GED with 1–3 years of deburring experience.
• Experience deburring, polishing and finishing machine parts with hand and power tools.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 35+ pounds unassisted for extended periods.
• Forklift certification preferred.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions/blueprints.

• Deburr, polish, and finish machine parts with hand and power tools.

Leidos Defense Sector Manufacturing is seeking a Saw / Deburr Technician to join our Platform Integration Facility team in Huntsville, AL.

Primary Responsibilities

• Reading of engineering drawings and can read standard measurement tools such as tape measure, dial calipers or micrometers.
• Perform deburring, polishing, and finishing of machine parts using hand tools and power tools.
• Inspect parts for defects, burrs, and sharp edges to ensure quality standards are met.
• Operate basic equipment such as grinders, files, sanders, and other deburring/finishing tools.
• Safely operate a forklift to move materials and products as needed.
• Assist with general labor tasks including material handling, cleaning, and organizing work areas.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, hazard-free workspace.
• Support production team with assembly, packaging, and other shop tasks as needed.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisors.
• Read and follow basic work instructions, blueprints, or diagrams (if applicable).

Basic Qualifications

• Must possess a High School diploma/GED with 1 – 3 years of relevant deburring experience.
• Experience in deburring, polishing and finishing machine parts with hand and power tools.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 35+ pounds unassisted for extended periods.
• Ability to safely operate a forklift (certification preferred).
• Ability to use hand tools and basic machinery.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
• Must be able to work overtime when required.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Must be able to work a full-time, 4-days per week, Monday-Thursday, 10-hours per shift.
• Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess or meet the eligibility requirements to obtain (and be able to maintain) a Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in manufacturing, deburring, or general labor.
• Vertical and horizontal CNC Saws.
• Experience in a high precision aerospace environment.

Pay Range: Pay Range $40,300.00 - $72,850.00 The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
