Job summary

Leidos Defense Systems Manufacturing in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Deburr Technician to join our Platform Integration Facility team. You will perform deburring, polishing, and finishing of machine parts using hand and power tools, and inspect parts to ensure quality.

You will operate grinders and sanders, safely move materials with a forklift, and support production with assembly and packing. The role requires a HS diploma with 1–3 years experience, ability to lift 35+ pounds, and willingness

• Forklift operation certification preferred and safety-focused.

Responsibilities

• Deburr, polish and finish machine parts using hand and power tools.
• Inspect parts for defects, burrs, and sharp edges to meet quality standards.
• Operate grinders, sanders and other finishing equipment.
• Safely move materials with a forklift as needed.
• Assist with general labor including packing and housekeeping.
• Follow work instructions, blueprints or diagrams when applicable.
• Support production with assembly and other shop tasks.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by supervisors.
• Maintain a clean and hazard-free workspace.

Leidos Defense Systems Manufacturing is seeking a Deburr Technician to join our Platform Integration Facility team in Huntsville, AL.

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform deburring, polishing, and finishing of machine parts using hand tools and power tools.
• Inspect parts for defects, burrs, and sharp edges to ensure quality standards are met.
• Operate basic equipment such as grinders, sanders, and other finishing tools.
• Safely operate a forklift to move materials and products as needed.
• Assist with general labor tasks including material handling, cleaning, and organizing work areas.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, hazard-free workspace.
• Support production team with assembly, packaging, and other shop tasks as needed.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisors.
• Read and follow basic work instructions, blueprints, or diagrams (if applicable).

Basic Qualifications

• Must possess a High School diploma/GED with 1 - 3 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in deburring, polishing and finishing machine parts with hand and power tools.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 35+ pounds unassisted for extended periods.
• Ability to safely operate a forklift (certification preferred).
• Ability to use hand tools and basic machinery.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
• Must be able to work overtime when required.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Must be able to work a full-time, 4-days per week 10-hours per shift.
• Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess or meet the eligibility requirements to obtain (and be able to maintain) a Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in manufacturing, deburring, or general labor.

Pay Range $40,300.00 - $72,850.00
